Royal Challengers Bangalore picked up Manoj Bhandage and Punjab Kings chose Vidhwath Kaverappa for a base price of 20 lakhs or $40k, making them the first two players in the list of Karnataka state players for IPL 2023, in ascending order of their auction prices. KC Cariappa, who was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous season. Rajasthan Royals have roped in KC Cariappa for 30 lakhs or $50k.
Delhi Capitals have bought Praveen Dubey, who was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in the previous edition, for 50 lakhs or $90k. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants have picked up Krishnappa Gowtham, who has been in impressive form in domestic cricket, for a whopping 90 lakhs or $160k.
Manish Pandey, who has been a consistent performer in the IPL over the years, has been signed by Delhi Capitals for a hefty amount of 2.4 crores or $430k. Abhinav Manohar has been picked up by Gujarat Titans for 2.6 crores or $460k. Devdutt Padikkal, who had a fantastic season with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous edition, has been roped in by Rajasthan Royals for a staggering 7.75 crores or $1.4m.
Varun Chakaravarthy, who had an impressive debut season with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2019, has been signed by the same franchise for a whopping 8 crores or $1.4m. Mayank Agarwal, who has been in great form for India in recent times, has been picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 8.25 crores or $1.5m.
Lastly, KL Rahul, who has been a consistent performer in the IPL over the years, has been signed by the Lucknow Super Giants for a staggering 17 crores or $3m.
